Booking Terms and Conditions

Please make sure you read our terms and conditions before booking your holiday or course!

Cwm Tawel site is based in a secluded farm valley, we have not overdeveloped the site for camping use and hence it is very rustic with grass paths and wooded areas; in places the terrain is uneven so please make sure all members of your party are aware of this and wear suitable footwear. Wellies can be bought from the site shop. We have a disabled friendly Yurt (subject to availability) and our toilets are disabled access, however we are still in a field and certain areas maybe inaccessible.

The hiring contract is between the hirer and Cwm Tawel Ltd.

Bookings should be made on line, by phone or email and confirmed within three days A 25% deposit is required to make a reservation – this can either be paid on line or by debit/credit card payment (credit cards subject to a 2.7% surcharge) or by cheque, made payable to Cwm Tawel Ltd or by electronic transfer.

We are happy to reserve the holiday for 3 days whilst awaiting a deposit cheque but we reserve the right to sell this holiday without further notice after this period. The balance is payable 8 weeks before your holiday.

By booking on line we ask that you confirm that you have read and understood the T&C’s, if you are booking by post or telephone we will ask you to sign a paper copy. Once booked the hirer is responsible for the total advertised price of the property.

It is the hirer’s responsibility to pay for any breakages or damage that occurs during their holiday and to leave the property in a clean and tidy condition. The hirers are required to permit the owner / agent access to the property for any repairs necessary. The hirer agrees not to exceed the maximum number of persons allowed in the property.

Cancellation: The deposit is non refundable. In the event of a cancellation request we will initially try to re-let your accommodation; in this instance we will refund the cost of the hire minus a 10% administration charge.

If your accommodation is not available due to unforeseen circumstances such as fire, flood or other Cwm Tawel Ltd cannot accept liability or responsibility for any loss, including consequential loss, but the full cost of the holiday will be refunded.

If you cut your holiday short we are not obliged to offer a refund.

If the booking becomes unavailable on the date stated, moneys will be refunded in full.

The hirer shall have no further claim against the owner / agent. Any complaints should be made to the owner / agent immediately so that it can be investigated and remedial action taken. Requests for compensation will not be considered after the holiday.

Accommodation is available from 3 p.m. on the day of arrival, and we ask that you arrive between 3pm and 6pm, if you are going to arrive later please contact reception and notify then. Visitors who arrive much later must be prepared not to be greeted at the site, but you will receive instructions on how to reach your Yurt. Accommodation must be vacated by 11am on the day of departure.

We do not allow any amplified music (this includes radios, ipods with speakers, karaoke machines) Excess noise nuisance causing disturbance to other guests is not acceptable. Cwm Tawel means ‘Quiet Valley’ and other guess maybe disturbed.

We have a non smoking policy within our Yurts and Tipis. If you wish to smoke please do so outside.

The owner accepts no responsibility for any injury or loss on the premises, and all children are the responsibility of the parent or guardian that they come with.

Group Bookings – booking the whole site at once – damage deposit: a holiday deposit of £100 – this will be returned by cheque within 7 days of the end of your holiday provided there is no damage or excess cleaning required.

Breakages and Damage – We ask is that you leave the yurt tidy and let us know if anything gets broken – we will only charge for replacement in exceptional cases as we expect a degree of wear and tear.

Large Adult only groups – We are happy to accommodate single sex groups including hens and stags…but we are primarily a family site and are only able to accommodate those that want to enjoy what we have to offer i.e. a quiet rural location with lovely walks and our course packages.

Each yurt is fitted with a smoke detector, carbon monoxide alarm and a fire extinguisher. Under no circumstances should fires be lit anywhere except for the campfire site in the round house Kitchen or in BBQ’s and Chimaeras on individuals decks. We take every care to ensure that the site and equipment is safe for you to use but some of the camp equipment and especially open fires can be dangerous if misused. Please be aware that accidents can happen and we are not responsible for such accidents (to the greatest extent permitted by law) It is your responsibility to ensure you supervise any children with you.

Dogs (except service dogs) are not permitted under any circumstances. We would be happy to supply you with the names of kennels if you need them.  In the unlikely event of completely inappropriate/dangerous/illegal behaviour we reserve the right to ask guests to leave immediately and they will be subject to forfeit the value of their booking.
